Common Health Entry Document

Definition of Common Health Entry Document

A Common Health Entry Document (CHED) is mandatory for the importation of specific goods into the UK, such as live animals, animal products, high-risk food and feed, and certain plant products.

It is used to demonstrate that the goods comply with the relevant sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) controls set by UK and EU regulations.

There are several types of CHEDs, each tailored to different categories of goods:

  • CHED-A: For live animals.

  • CHED-P: For products of animal origin.

  • CHED-PP: For plants and plant products.

  • CHED-D: For high-risk food and feed not of animal origin
