Customs Entry

Definition of Customs Entry

A customs entry, also known as a customs declaration, is a formal statement given to customs authorities detailing specific information about goods being imported or exported.

In the UK, customs entry information is submitted electronically to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) using systems like the Customs Declaration Service (CDS).

The declaration typically includes details such as the description of the goods, their value, origin, and destination, along with the associated tariffs and taxes that may apply.
